Remembering a Heroine

Like many others in our childhoods, we have not only our heroes as role models, but we also have our crushes as well. For one of my very first loves involves one Trini Kwan, the original Yellow Ranger from the classic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fame, played by the lovely Thuy Trang. Sadly, she passed away in 2001 on this day due to a fatal traffic accident, and since this is the 15th anniversary of her death, I thought I'd make this Smilodon fold in her honour. Due to the September 11 terrorist attacks, I never found out until a few years later.

Considering that this is the only Smilodon fold I was able to find, I thought I'd give it a shot at folding this one. Due to this being a famed Satoshi Kamiya fold, I faced a bit of difficulty folding this beast even with the instructions, especially around the lower jaw and the limbs. More or less, I got that completed in time, and this would possibly be my most difficult fold yet, but it served its purpose.

Even though her life was cut short, I hope Miss Trang achieved much in her acting and martial arts career, and was quite the survivor when she and family first came to USA from Vietnam. I thank you greatly for bring such a lovely character to life, and I never cared about the racial controversy involving you and the cool Walter Jones (Zack Taylor/original Black Ranger). You were wonderful in your time as a Power Ranger, and I wish I would have been able to meet you.

RIP Thuy Trang. You will not be forgotten.
