Like the title says, this is the first time I've ever completed a Gundam drawing, even though I'm not much of an expert in drawing mecha, much less in anime/manga characters. Still, I pretty pleased with my first attempt, but I might have to put it into Scraps later. Then again, maybe not.
After seeing the entire Mobile Suit Gundam Wing series along with the OVA Endless Waltz, I couldn't help but be inspired to draw up one of my favourite Gundam mobile suit, Wing Gundam Zero Custom! Part of the pose was from the DVD cover, but I thought I'd give him a slight change, especially the arms and the angel wings.
Speaking of the angel wings, they weren't easy to draw (since the DVD cover only showed part of them), and considering I couldn't make the same pose as in Two-Mix's Last Impression cover! Thus I had to fit the wings into the picture as much as possible. The top right wing ended up a bit too thin so I decided to thicken it a bit. Afterwards, it wasn't easy to painstakingly draw the other left wings symmetrically so I had to resort to tracing paper for assistance.
And not only that, I probably need some good lessons in shading too. Bugger. Not an easy task, especially on the wings. Plus drawing mecha fists isn't as easy as they look.
Overall, it may not be the best mecha drawing in my arsenal, but at least it shows my dedication to such a good series! I now feel inspired to draw up some mecha if I can, especially Transformers and Gundams! I suggest you click Download to get a better view as well. Hope you enjoy it!
Whoa, great job! : ) So pretty~ *shot* I mean, so awesome 8D;; I especially love the angel wings *wing obsession* I can't draw Gundamoos for peanuts XD
