"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."
At last, it is done! I never thought I'd say this, but who would have thought this would become reality! As the title says, it's not just to celebrate my third year at Deviantart, it is a dedication to Planet Cybertron's Greatest Hero, none other that Optimus Prime himself! To celebrate the twenty-five glorious years Transformers brought to our lives as fanboys and fangirls, along with the upcoming film Revenge of the Fallen, I thought I'd do a special tribute (though it does not transform)! Originally I was going to do the Dinobots, unfortunately some of the folds in a book I found proved to be quite difficult. This is originally a container truck fold by Duy Nguyen, except I gave it some heavy modifications to make it the 1980s Freightliner cab-over truck form recognisable to all. It may not look like an origami fold at first, because of the exterior decorations added to make it accurate or so. Let's just say that the whole process involved a lot of cutting, gluing, and folding - especially to cut off certain pieces to make the right parts fit as possible and getting the wheels up to scale. Examples include adding parts like the lights, smokestacks, front grill, windows, panelling and even the signature Autobot insignias. The cab and trailer are seperate pieces, by the way. I can't really calculate exactly how long this project took me without other activities, but what I do know is this; it took almost a week to finish and add the final touches! All in all, it would be of intermediate class, and through all that hard work, it was worth it! I am very pleased that I was able to build it to the very end, so I am proud to show you the fruits of origami labour completed! I would also like to thank Mr Peter Cullen for voicing one of the greatest icons in Transformer history! As with my previous Transformer-based origami/papercraft deviation (this is the second), for all you Transformers fans, especially Autobot fans, this is for you! AUTOBOTS, TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT! Oh sweet! Nice job indeed I don't know how you can make an optimus prime truck form from folding paper at all. Digging the details too. Certainly can't pull anything like this off, if I folded an optimus prime it'd like not too dissimilar from a caryard wreck.
Yes and definitely looking forward to the new movie! Should be out soon - will be mind blowing but I hope that they don't have too much unnecessary lovey dovey bits. -- I don't know what to eat. AHAHAHA! Thats fantastic!
